巴西邮政Correios had its origin in Brazil on January 25, 1663, and since then it has been modernizing, creating and providing quality services that meet the expectations of its customers.
The company performs an important function of integration and social inclusion, a vital role for national development. In the composition of its revenues, 54.3% come from monopoly services (letters, telegrams and bulk mail), so that the market reserve of these three services is an essential factor for its survival and to guarantee universal access.
Side by side with the social aspect, Correios offers solutions with cutting edge technology to meet the communication needs of companies and institutions in an increasingly competitive market. This is the case of Sedex, created in 1982, which became one of the main products of the company and leads the express parcels' delivery industry in Brazil. In recent years, the service has expanded to other modalities, such as e-Sedex, Sedex 10, Sedex Hoje and Sedex Mundi, further speeding the delivery of parcels.
Due to its highly pervasive action, providing financial services at Correios' post offices is increasingly becoming an important contribution to the inclusion of millions of Brazilians into the banking system. Since the creation of the Postal Bank, thousands of people who once had to travel to a nearby town to perform a simple banking operation now have the convenience of being able to do everything in the city where they live.
Driven by technological, economic and social changes, Correios has since 2009 adopted a new Corporate Identity, taking on a proactive stance towards customers, society, employees and the government. In addition to offering and delivering products and services, Correios began to better understand the demands of society, providing solutions to bring people and organizations closer, wherever they are. 巴西邮政(Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telégrafos)的历史随着葡萄牙发现巴西大陆开始。1500年4月22日,葡萄牙航海家佩德罗.卡布拉尔到达巴西,立即派远航船队的佩罗.瓦斯.德卡米尼亚作为公证人携带装有27页的信件向葡萄牙国王呈报发现新大陆的喜讯,开创了巴西邮政业的篇章。

1663年在巴西大陆正式成立邮局。1892年成立邮政管理机构,在巴西各州建立分支代表机构。1843年8月1日正式首次发行巴西邮票。1852年成立巴西电报局。1900年开始办理国际包裹业务。1921年开始国际空邮。1974年开立夜间空中邮政。1978年在巴西各城镇建立巴西邮政网,巴西邮政管理学院成立。1980年巴西邮政电报博物馆在巴西利亚落成。1997年在巴西邮电部设邮政国务秘书处。1999年巴西在世界发行首张香味邮票。2000年巴西开通便利出口邮政服务。

巴西邮政资金筹集主要来自两个方面:(1)政府资助。巴西政府近年斥资9.89亿美元开发了2个基础项目:邮政部门管理改革,ECT(巴西邮政和电报企业)的组织和商业改革。(2)外部支持。万国邮联和美西葡邮联为巴西邮政改革过程中的资金筹集起到了重要的作用。万国邮联选派专家协调与其他对巴西邮政改革有兴趣的国家进行技术交流与互换(在巴西技术人员的协助下),并对巴西改革工作组提供有关方法论和工作方法方面的支持;美西葡邮政联盟对巴西改革提供了资金支持,如建立“客户关系办公室”和开发普遍服务系统。这两项项目的资金均由“特别基金”提供资助。

1997年11月底,巴西通信部和巴西合作部(ABC)与万国邮政联盟签订了一项有关管理改革程序的协议。这无疑是一件新鲜事,但巴西认为万国邮联非常值得信赖,而且它拥有长期的技术合作的经验。万国邮联的第一项任务是对一些专门的业务进行招标。5个私营咨询公司投标第一个项目,4个私营咨询公司投标第二个项目。在万国邮联和通信部对各个投标进行了仔细的研究以后,一个有关巴西邮政行业体制改革的设计和技术准备的合同给予了Mackinsey公司。万国邮联然后着手协调巴西项目的实施。它参加了对各项工作的跟踪和评估,在改革程序范围内进行分析和研究,并且它将起草有关此项目实施情况的最终报告。
